Sugarcane trucks are railway freight cars specifically designed for the sugar industry, mainly used to transport sugarcane harvested from the fields in bulk to sugar factories. They often operate on dedicated lines in the factory area, narrow gauge sugarcane field railways, and some can also be transported through standard gauge mainlines.

• Specialized design: Mainly consisting of open top cars or open top boxes, without bottom doors or side opening structures, making it easy to quickly lift, flip and unload materials
• Gauge compatibility: Most are narrow gauge vehicles (such as 762mm, known as "Wufen cars" in Taiwan), suitable for light field lines, with options for 1000mm meter gauge and 1435mm standard gauge vehicles
• Loading and unloading: Early designs used whole bundle loading with columns and ropes fixed, while modern mainstream hopper type bulk containers (Bin) have load capacity ranging from 4-15 tons and can be used with dump trucks for automatic unloading
• Operating characteristics: Low speed, large capacity, short distance distribution, pursuing low cost and high turnover, often operated by small diesel locomotives pulling and grouping
